living screen

i would love a living screen,maybe,a willow arch,can any-one sugest another screen.?

willow is cheep and fast. it it easy to bend and shape it as you like. but i does grow big if you let it. i have weaved wiegella and budliah into 'fedges'.

pople trees will do the same as willow but getting hold of them is another story

Bamboo is evergreen and can be used as a living screen. If using bamboo I would choose the variety with care though. Some types are very small, others grow huge and can send up runners everywhere, and need to have a pit dug around them with a barrier to prevent them taking over.
I have recently bought two 6 - 7 feet specimens partly as screening and partly because I love bamboo. You can still see through them partially as they only have a few stems in each pot. Once they have establised more they will thicken out.
When the bamboo seeds it will generally die afterwards - I had one that did this previously.
