Do you feed it at all?
I had two amaryllises that I lost and they flowered in their boxes last year (I felt very bad about that). Potted up the bulbs anyway and they made a few leaves and sat and sulked on the windowsill. I gave them one feed last year and then only watered occasionally. Kept them dry as the leaves died off and only started watering again as the shoots appeared this early spring. This year they've flowered amazingly well, considering the bulb-abuse they'd endured.

Thanks Seaburngirl/Beattie...... firstly i have never given mine any feed just a very good compost which as you can see my newly aquired pink/white one is loving it, i think i shall try a feed and see,as they say patience is a virtue and the foliage is nice to see........Something i never mentioned on my question is bulb depth, my pink sits virtuely on top but my red ive found that ive had to plant deeper(upto 2thirds its size) to get any reaction from it at all......well you have certainly opened my eyes a bit more. thanks everso again. ;)

« Fuchsias just had to say all my fuchsias are looking nice and lush. And today...
mine hasnt flowered for 3 years but it is this year.
dont really know what to suggest except from now until the foliage dies back give it a regular feed. If it gets nice outside then it can sit outside enjoying the sunshine. I think sometimes because i keep mine well watered it doesnt see the need to form a flower before going dormant. so perhaps try reducing the watering slightly so it 'thinks' it is going to have to go dormant.
