Hello gardeners does playsand damage lawns? Please could anyone advise as my granddaughter loves to play in her sand and water tray on my lawn but inevitably some spills. If it does do damage what's the best way to limit this, should I try to brush it in, water it in or what?
many thanks

I wouldn,t brush it off, brush it in, it will help the drainage in the lawn. Silver sand used to be used in mixing composts, and was very cheap, now it,s play sand , and is quite expensive, Derek.

The reason I said to remove what Sunbeam could is simply because its expensive, Derekm - I remember how much sand got dumped on the grass from when my my kids were young, so rescuing what you can and putting it back in the sandpit was a useful thing to do. The rest I used to brush across the grass, as I said before.

Playsand is usually silver sand, so hopefully, that's what you've got. It won't cause any harm to the grass, but its always best to remove what you can if there's lots and brush or spread the rest over the lawn rather than leaving it in piles.
