I got this stem in a bouquet my partner brought home from the kids when i was run down bless, and although the rest died ages ago this still has its lovely purple flowers, any idea what its called? :o)

Statice can be used as dried flowers and keeps its colour for ages

The term sea lavender is usually reserved for a different variety of statice - Limonium polyphyllum, and that one's a perennial.

I have some lavender in the back garden i picked a load last year but dont think i dried it out properly :/ im adding this one to my list though with the colour lasting that long, could do all sorts with it!

it's Statice - you can grow it from seed easily. I can't remember its full Latin handle though, and I think packets of seeds are sold as Statice anyway, from what I remember when I grew it. Lasts years if you cut it at the right time.
P.S. Limonium sinuatum, comes in blue, pink, white yellow.
