Does anyone else...

... find this site totally addictive?!

Answers

Oh yes, of course, specially when you first join. I recall the housework never got done, along with the ironing and cooking, etc. Takes about a year or more to settle down to having a look and not being on here for hours and hours and hours...
I remember I wrote a blog called Guilt, A surprise find and something or other - the guilt was associated with being on here instead of doing all the other things I should have been doing...

It's my morning fix! Can't start the day without it!

8 Jun, 2012

Duh!!! :-)

8 Jun, 2012

I accidentally spend whole evenings on here instead of doing my tai chi practice. And now I'm at it in the middle of the afternoon - is there no cure?

8 Jun, 2012

managing to restrict it to an evening fix, but the evenings are starting earlier

8 Jun, 2012

Oh it is addictive, but it does settle down after the first year or so.

This must be the day for confessions - Bill_dingsite did a guilt blog this morning as well!

A year or more...? Oh dear! Anyone know of a good cleaning company in South Wales...?!

8 Jun, 2012

I learnt something about housework in my early days on here - it's still there when you do get round to it, so it doesn't go away, lol!

8 Jun, 2012

What is housework? :-)

8 Jun, 2012

Yes I do, and I am still learning. I am cooking dinner at the moment and looking at all the questions on goy at the same time (computer is by the side of the kitchen). Yes - what is housework?

8 Jun, 2012

It's that thing you have to do when you can't see the colour of your furniture any more under the layer of grey... I left it so long recently I actually used the dusting brush to hoover it off the units...

8 Jun, 2012

Totally addictive ... I've been here since 2008, and still find difficulty switching off ;o)

There all wonderful people on here most days its the only reason i log on and the A~Z for me is very addictive Being a novice gardener(about 6 years) its an aladdins cave of plants and good websites to buy from. ;)

8 Jun, 2012

I always use the dusting brush to get the dust off the surfaces, but then, I am wicked! ;)

8 Jun, 2012

Agree with what everyone is saying,I remember feeling guilty leaving housework while I was getting great and instant information(usualy from Bamboo) when I joined in january.

Some pills you take before meals and some after...Three or more times a day...so I follow the advice rigidly..and apply it to Goy .!...and I sometimes overdose with tea breaks in between.....addictive ? always .:o)

8 Jun, 2012

Lol,Karen..and it's true ! :o)

I am not addicted... I am merely hooked.

On some days it can be like a chatroom. On others it is bleak, but always, Always, it is FUN.

Welcome neighbour;-)

I usually get the housework done Oct thru to Mar, hence less visits to gardening sites in the colder months. Maybe a weekly visit as opposed to daily. There's a lot of dust around me as I speak, but then there is very few weeds outside and the garden is where I live all day long mar thru Oct. :-)

I am relieved to hear that the addiction slows down after a year or so! Only another 10 months to go then.... (Has it really been only 2 months since I discovered this? What did I do before???)
(Just as well it was raining yesterday, 2ndhand - my daughter and her husband are coming to stay this w/e!)

9 Jun, 2012

A weeks dust is just as easy to get rid of,as a day's ,.2ndhand ! One sweep,and a mask..done! :o)

9 Jun, 2012

I like that Bloomer....and SOOO true X

9 Jun, 2012

I'd like to add too that it is very addictive... also very expensive... when you trawl around on here, see different plants and then go off in search of them!! GoY is usually the first thing I look at in the morning, and the last thing I look at before going to bed!! I'm only a couple of months in, so guess I've got another 10 months or so of this addiction :O

My mum would have thrown up her hands in horror,Poppy..as it was the norm to do certain things on certain days..but with not having the luxury of todays mod cons, they had to have routine...I started off that way,but realised life was too short to donkey stone a
step ! ..Lol :o))

9 Jun, 2012

Only 10 months,Suzy ? you having a laugh? Almost 4 years later..and nothing has changed..:o)))

9 Jun, 2012

haha Bloomer... I was just going to do some hoeing.. and dig a bit more grass away... but decided to have a quick look on here first!!!

9 Jun, 2012

You are definitely one of us,Suzy..:o)

9 Jun, 2012

Thank you Bloomer :) I've hoed all around the garden :) Now to dig some of the lawn away... trouble is that means I'll have to go shopping again :O. Seriously thinking of buying a mini greenhouse

9 Jun, 2012

Donkey stone a step???????Is that what you did up yorkshire Bloomer?

9 Jun, 2012

Not me ,Poppy..but my mum and Grandma did..I was the one climbing up a chimney to sweep it..complete with flat cap ! Lol...:o))

9 Jun, 2012

Suzy I had a mini greenhouse, was great til the wind caught it..... Xxx it was good though. I loved peeking in each day to see eBay was going on :)

9 Jun, 2012

Hey bloomer, you're right, But it's so much more satisfying to have few weeds and mown lawn, that surfaces that shine. :-) and may I add, getting rid of six months dust and cobwebs is such a delight to do when it's chilly outside. On the other hand my kitchen is cleaned regularly, my floors hoovered daily. But I don't hoover or dust during the warmer months, The OH does it, so come Oct I do a proper job and keep it going until the next dusty phase. :-)

10 Jun, 2012

Lol,2ndhand..I have a 'man about the house' too ! great, isnt it ? He likes housework...so naturally,I wouldn't like to deprive him of the simple pleasures in life..:o)
My eyesight isn't too good, but he doesn't miss anything!
although I don't miss too much..and see what I want to see .Lol.

10 Jun, 2012

Totally!!!! :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

10 Jun, 2012

Bring it on,Michaella ! Lol :o)))))))))

10 Jun, 2012

I didn't say he enjoyed it, He's a martyr to the hoover, which he invariably breaks. He always grumbles when he's hoovering. I just go out of the way.

11 Jun, 2012

Lol,2ndhand ..and of course you say you can't hear him anyway, for the sound of the Hoover! May as well shut up then,as no ones listening :o)
