I keep finding woodlice on my kitchen floor. Also my compost bin at the top of the garden is crawling with them. I would like to stop them coming into my kitchen. Also if they are pests I would like to get rid off them.
Hope you can help.
Many thanks

Hi Lesley wood lice eat decomposing wood so they are not a pest, at least in my view they aren't. I wouldn't worry about them in the compost bin probably finding something woody to eat as it rots down. I find wood lice, vine weevil and all sorts wandering around our house and tend to just let them be on the grounds they aren't doing any harm.

I have found them in the bathroom (its a bungalow) and they are coming in somewhere under the bath (its an old bungalow!). I use a crawling insect spray where they appear and that seems to put them off.

Hello again
Thankyou for your replies.
Now I am wondering if my door frame may have started to rot. It is Mahogany & was replaced 19 yrs back. It does take a battering in driving rain. Perhaps that is the answer.
However I will look for a spray or powder to put down as creepy crawlies do not bode well in the kitchen.

Woodlice in the kitchen would indicate damp, rotting wood somewhere or other... have you checked under the kitchen sink? I once had a leak under there and the cupboard was rotting and woodlice were everywhere...

How do I say thanks?
