Needs rescuing with repotting and new soil and a good feed. If that does not work, its for the compost or green bin

I'm having trouble deciding what kind of palm this is - do you have a label or a proper name for it? Whatever it is, its suffering from cold...

hi bamboo
i`m told its a sago palm and looks like its past its sell by date lol

It'll be our c...y summer that's doing it. When you got it, did you put it straight outside, or harden it off first? Most likely it had been kept under cover before sale, so it would have needed gradual hardening off before going outside all the time.
They really need a warm summer, with temps preferably over 20 deg C, and that's a tall order this year. They're also not really frost hardy, so need to be overwintered inside somewhere.
If the trunk part at the bottom is still firm and solid, its not dead - if that's gone soggy, its a goner.

That'd be nice - maybe it will flower if its in a conservatory.

Not really a palm, but a type of Cycad, Gardengadgit and is best growing in a subtropical climate. Quite tough though, it does prefer to be kept dry, and treated like a cactus really, only water sparingly. I'm wondering if the leaves have been scorched by the odd hot day we've had. I think I'd be tempted to to cut the dried ones off, more than likely it,ll send new growth from the centre there. Don't forget it is a very slow growing type of plant too.

Dunno, how long's it been in the same pot and are there roots hanging out the bottom?

No Gardeng..

The pot is plenty big enough generous even they seem to like a bit of confinement. Take it back into the conservatory good but not direct sunlight and cross your fingers...I think there is slightest hope. The leaves look quite tough but are incredibly fragile on this one. That is all sun and wind damage I think .
