We live in Newmarket and I would like to plant my banana plant (Musa basjoo) in the garden. When is the best time to plant it outside and what should I do with it in the autumn through the winter?

Hello we have several banana plants all do very well where they are it is fairly sheltered and in good fertile soil we covered them in fleece w rapped around bamboo canes then put a pot on top of the canes to hold the fleece and stones around the base to stop it coming up and it has just started to grow again year before we did nothing and it came back although it had to start from the ground wheres this time there was still leaves left on
