I have a ton of peace lilies that I received when our daughter died. Am wondering if planted outside they will survive a winter in zone 3.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Peace lilies are kept here (equivalent of zone 8, approx) as houseplants - I don't think they would survive the cold. You might be able to put them outside when it's frost free but don't expose them to direct sunlight as they get leaf scorch.
