Lindy veggies are not bothered by acidic soil... how are you growing them?

I would say regardless to being acid, your soil is poor and needs much in the way of fertiliser and humus.

Dr B is probably right the big fir trees will have used all the nutriment in the soil... lots of compost or soil improver and you should see a difference

I would suggest giving a good dressing of lime to the whole garden to nutralise some of the excess acid. As Doctorbob says then plenty of good humous and a balanced fertiliser , as the fire trees will have robbed the ground.
