My broad beans are not producing any beans.

I planted my beans in November and they are healthy and relatively pest-free. I have protected them from the birds with netting but I still have no beans. The flowers are just falling off to leave a stump, where there should be a bean. What have I done wrong?

sometimes being too dry prevents fruit set. but as moon grower says has the netting prevented pollinating insects getting in. I have never netted the beans and the birds have never been a problem. at least not with the beans.
welcome to GoY too.

Sounds as if the flowers have not been pollinated. Has the netting also kept the insects out?
