It looks like a newly emerged insect?

head looks waspish going by the antennae. will ahve another look in my wasp book tonight.

It looks like a sawfly. Not quite Arge ustulata -see

I have just had an email back from an expert. He says it is a Sawfly, but as the group is so complex it is impossible to tell from a photograph.

glad it is id'd as I forgot to look last night. oops sorry.
