why is the bark coming off my rambling rose

it is in full flower and otherwise healthy but the bark is pealing off. it is against a north west wall.

If it is a fairly old rose then the bark does flake off. Mines done it for nearly a decade and it still live on.

If not, it may be a fungus, look at the bark underneath the peelling bark for any lumps or coloured bumps. Take a sample to a garden centre, they may help
