growing marrows

Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Could any of my dear friends advice me on growing marrows. My son has a vegetable plot at the top of his garden and he wants to grow the tasty veg. How would you recommend i buy them, from seed or do you buy them as a young plant ? thanks. Ali bongo

They grow really easily from seed. I start mine off in pots and then plant out after the danger of frosts has passed. They like a rich soil (plenty of garden compost dug in) and keep them well watered. Good luck!

They need plenty of room too, I have decided I have not got enough room but would love to have a go one day. I have let my daughter plant a pumpkin seed but we are going to grow that in the top of the compost bin as they like plenty of garden compost to thrive too

Good luck make sure you take pictures will be great to see the progress
