Sweet Pickling vinegar for pickling Beetroot

My husband is growing some beetroot and wants to pickle them, but wants to know can you get sweet pickling vinegar and if so where can you buy it ?

I am an avid chutney and pickled onion making (well, every September anyway). I've never heard of sweet pickling vinegar. I would suggest that you may just need to add sugar to the vinegar along with the pickling spices.
