Thank you for the advice. I thought so since I have raised a few before this. But since this one is sitting there green for so long, my husband thinks it might rot. I moved it out into full sun and still it is green after a month of full sun.

Could you ripen it indoors? If you buy them unripe in the market, then that is what happens. Indeed it is often quite hard to buy a fully ripe pineapple here.

Usually if I buy one in the supermarket pulling a leaf out easily ususlly means its ripe.......also if it smells ripe

I buy one from the supermarket, put it in the fruit bowl which I walk past several times a day and when I get a whiff of pineapple as I pass, I know it is ready to eat.
