How to get rid of woolly aphids?

They're going mad on my apple tree, & I don't want to use spray. What's the best way to be rid of 'em?

Try squirting them off with a jet from the hose pipe. A finger over the end is more efficient than any bought nozzle.

I had a spate of aphids and sprayed with a solution of water and washing up liquid. This worked for me.

Thanks! Will try to blast them off - they just seem so stuck fast in the cracks (I've tried wiping them off).....

I have been told that planting nasturtiums at the foot of plants infested with wooly aphid is one way to control them. They move to the nasturtium apparently, although I haven't tried it myself.

How do I say thanks?
