Bugs in my orchid compost

I have some orchid seedlings that I'm growing indoors. I potted them up from the sterile flask that they came in (they were a present...) into small individual pots several weeks ago, into a mix of orchid compost and a bit of perlite. They've been in an unheated propagator since, and watered occasionally.

There are now lots of tiny white bugs in the compost and under the pots. They're so small I can't get a photo of them, but they're a thin shape, white, and "jump".

Any ideas what they are and what I should do about them?? Thanks.

Springtails... I think your compost is too wet.

Thanks Pimpernel, I'll let the compost dry out a bit. How do I get rid of them?

They will die off if the compost dries out. It could be worth sending a PM to Meanie on how best to water the seedlings.. I am sure he will know.
