Bulb care

Just a quick question. What do I do with my daffodil bulbs now? All the leaves had died and I needed the pot they were in so took them out, washed them off and dried them, now what? They all have what I assume are baby bulbs growing off them, do I leave them attached?

Excellent, thank you very much. Will put them in a paper bag in the shed.

Most times it is best not to put water on them....just take them out of the soil...leave them out in the fresh air to dry off....when the soil is dry you can brush it away with a paper towel or soft brush... you may separate the offset bulbs or not, just as you please...when they are naturalized in the ground they need never be disturbed...they will expand their clumps nicely and all you have to do is deadhead the blossoms once they die and allow the foliage to drop before removing...

you can do several things. either plant them in the garden for next year.
or put them in a paper bag and store somewhere cool and dry. [i use the coalhouse.] i leave the side bulbs on and they will grow away nicely for next year. you dont need to wash them just brush the soil off and then they will be fine.
late september/early october you can put them back into the pot if you dont want them in the ground.
