for the first 5 years my thus (sumach) did not flower .in the last 2 years it has and i thought i would soon see red cones but the flowers dried out and fell off . i had watered it . any answers please. grandadpic.

I 'share' a plant of this with my neighbour. Some years it is in my garden, then it dies off and reappears in hers! Sometimes it flowers well and other times not.

they are dioecious plants so I suspect you have a male plant. you need the female plant to get the seedheads.
