Bergeranthus Glenenesis - winter care

BERGERANTHUS GLENENSIS
I have just bought this lovely little alpine to put in my wall garden which gets good sun (occasionally!!!!). I am just wondering if it needs protection over winter.

This is a South African plant, Susie, that grows in dry scrub. It is hardy but I suspect that it will not like getting wet in winter. A sheet of glass fixed above the plant would be useful.
