I've been searching the internet and reading most of the well known gardening websites for information on what can be added to tap water for ericaceous plants, namely blueberries, azaleas, oleanda and bourganvillia and until I visited your site. It would have been quicker and easier to search the so called expert sites just before switching the computer off and using your knowledge base first. Incidentally I live in soft water area that is very near the sea. So I presume I could use Sequestrine as a water additive or do you have any other suggestion.

What do you need to add something to the water for ? are the leaves going yellow ? If you're tap water is already soft, surely you won't need to use boiled water.

If you're feeding them, there is a product on the market (Miraclegro) specifically for acid-loving plants. You just add a capful to your watering can. I use it regularly for my Kalmia and Camellia, both of which are in pots.
As Andy says, sequestrine is usually used for plants when the leaves are looking yellow-ish.

As Andy says, why use anything? 'Soft' water is acidic and so quite suitable for ericaceous plants. We live in a soft water area and have never used anything.

In Carmarthenshire you should be able to use tap water, I use tap water and had no issues. Worse hard water area would do is bleach our acidic Fe and the like and you can add that back in via an acidic feed.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that cooled boiled water is the answer, perhaps I am wrong!
