What is this Beetle thet I've found on my Lavender?

Essex, United Kingdom

This is the size and shape of a Ladybird but is metallic green with reddy/brown stripes. I have put a better description and a picture in my photos. IU'd be intersted to find out if it's one of these foreign sopecies of Ladybird that we keep hearing about. There are hundreds of them on my Lavender plants, and what's worrying is I've not seen many native Ladybirds in the garden this year!

It's not the European ladybird, whatever it is - that looks like ours, but a bit bigger with a white splotch at the base of the head, just before the wings.

I would say it is almost definitely Rosemary Beetle. The RHS are tracking this around the country. If you go to their site, you can let them know you have it in your garden.

it is the rosemary beetle ( Chrysolina americana ) and it can be got rid of using provada bug killer or by removing the adults and lavae by hand.
