Good afternoon/evening everyone who drops by for a read,

Still too hot to be out for long and the skeeters are terrible. I need one hand free to swat and one to deal with the garden, taking its toll.

As promised I stopped by the GC to get ya’ll the botanical name of that dark purple sativa – nemerosa.

I might have the annual dark purple but I can’t tell until it either comes up next year or not. Either way will work.

I am finished with the housework and have moved onto the basement cleaning, much easier and cooler work. Still waiting for that good soaking we have been promised. Just not hitting this area, manages to get everywhere else tho. I did have enough rain water to give all the potted plants a fine drink and then I spilled the rest onto the bed beside the driveway. If it does finally rain as promised everyone there will get a nice drink and the rain barrel will be filled again. Win-win for me.

About lunch now that I have cooled off from the outside work.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Hi Rusty, So at last you got some long awaited Rain, that's good...it's a start...you're right it is early hours of Sunday, very humid here; not sleeping weather....so watching some TV.....

Hi Sue, we got some rain, mostly a sprinkle as it didn't fill the small bird bath very much at all. Where Dan is, Pittsburgh, they got 2 inches in an hour and had a major runoff flood in that part of town where he was. Luckily he was at the top of the hill and all the water ran down towards the river. The street next to the river flooded and covered several cars, three or maybe four people died. The river rose 9 feet in a matter of no time!

Bogie and I were up at 5 for a short walk, 75 already, humid, no air and I don't see or smell rain. HURRY up! That weather man who keeps saying rain is all wrong. It was to rain last night about 5 PM. nothing at all. Where do they get their reports from another state? 8-)

Coffee already and then a bogie walk, then the morning paper and crossword puzzle. I have peaches to freeze and yesterday I cooked some seedless grapes for freezing for a grape pie. If it would be cooler I would go check the grapevine. LOTS of green ones last time I looked. I would like enough to make one batch of preserves before the birds and bees get them gone.

Take a rest this afternoon, you need your sleep too.
