Toilet roll tubes!

I was just scouting another gardening website and came across somebody else’s idea for cheap seed pots. Toilet roll and kitchen roll tubes, (make 4 slits) cut at the bottom to overlap to form a bottom. I thought it was so good, I wanted to share it! I just need to get collecting my toilet roll tubes now :)
Happy gardening!

I put four in a 6" pot, fill with compost, then use to grow different seedlings which then can be planted out. I did this after seeing the cost of a thin, wobbly, plastic box with pre-moulded seedling pots in a GC here!

It makes sense really. Great idea. Plus it's like you say, you can plant the whole thing out when it's time, instead of trying to carefully remove them from the plastic ones. Well, last year I spent a fortune on the paper/card pots. Wished I'd have seen this idea earlier. I'll be saving from now on though! Happy days.

They get used for my Sweetpeas Sam, if I haven`t collected enough I then make more with newspaper, works well as the roots don`t get disturbed when planting out..
