I've been gardening for several years but now that the children are grown and gone I find that I have more time to spend in my garden. I am a novice with botanical names but I'm learning. I have a native bed that is dedicated to plants that are native to the southeast US. I have a bed with hostas, hellebores, iris and ferns, another for herbs, tomatoes and peppers, and one for azaleas, hydrangeas, and roses. My husband is actually starting to take an interest in my garden and is very helpful when it comes to tilling and amending the very heavy red clay that makes up most of our property.
