Stuck in again

All the hard work digging ourselves out has been undone but at least we had food for ourselves and our birds.
We had a bad winter last year but have had more snow fall in the last 5/6 days than we had the whole of the last winter. What we don’t want now is the big freeze that came with it.That will be a real worry.it is snowing again as I type I don’t know how long it will take for this lot to go.As soon as I clear a spot of the ground feeders it gets covered again but the birds are enjoying the food. The blackbirds and thrushes especially liking the grated cheese, crushed sunflower and pumpkin seeds mixed with sultanas and one of hubbys mincepies.
I don’t wish this lot on anybody but I wish it would move from the northeast

we had the fieldfares come but that night the temp dropped to -8 and I think that the've gone somewhere warmer--- hope it all clears soon!

I would swap your light dusting Benjiboy.
Pamq, no fieldfares here as yet.The temp.here not too bad but the wind has to start soon that will keep us housebound as we on top of hill with fields all around get plenty drifting.
Amblealice I know you are having it pretty rough in northumberland too.In fact its just shown a photo of Rothbury.crikey, worse than here.

I am in Newcastle and wish it would just go, my son is clearing the bird table for me as the snow is just too deep for me. Did any body else have the thunder and lighning?

We didn't have it up hear but heard about it on the radio.....

At first I thought it was the lads winding me up as they know I hate lightning, but then I saw it for myself, and there has been more tonight. All quiet at the minute finger's crossed.

Yes Mavisc52 saw the lightening tonight alright......a little more snow but the biggest problem is the amount that has slid off the roof.Broke the guttering and fascia board and I bet it knocked a lot of birds out of their sleep in the hedging beside it.poor little things

oh you poor things-- we're quiet here some snow probably just over an inch and no wind yet .I've never heard of thunder & snow -- we had one one foggy april morning some years ago and that was just weird
