Update on Suntrap Garden - Save Our Suntrap - Garden for Lifelong Learni...

A Committee has now been set up to try and save the garden. They have a web site on the following link www.sos2010.btck.co.uk

The garden is run on organic lines and the Wildlife hotels in the garden encourage ‘good’ bugs. John reckons five years has shown that there is no need for potentially harmful chemical intervention if the balance of good v bad bugs is correct.

I had to laugh last evening I was looking for something and my eye caught a news flash saying bed bugs were on the way back yuk!. I wonder how some of these hotels would compare with ours. LOL.

Maybe they will let us put in offers for that hotel. I have just had an email saying there will be no more classes from Suntrap via Oatridge college and they will not be doing them at their home site either as far as anybody knows. It is posted on the web site news. Goyers in East, West, Mid Lothian and Edinburgh and Fife if you are interested in Suntrap and what it has given to the community please look at the website and register your support for the committee trying to save it.

Do plan a visit before the end of August. I go in Fridays to weed etc. and I will be there on 21st August its a Saturday from 12 noon - 4pm. I'm a volunteer and we keep the garden open at weekends after the gardeners go away at 12 o'clock. You are welcome to bring a picnic if it is a good day, as there are no catering facilities except on Open Days.
