Autumn Begins

Only in the UK can it be 29 degrees one week and the next its freezing and time to put on hats and scarves.
I’ve been itching for weeks to sow some sweet peas and its finally time to do it.
I’ve collected loo rolls from everyone round me lol so now have my pots supplied.
I’m sowing a pack of seeds from the £ shop, hopefully they will be successful like my £ shop dahlias.
They are a pack of 60 seeds, so 12 seeds of each variety….I’m sowing half now and then will sow half in spring to extend the flowering.
Step 1: Collection of pots
Step 2: Oraganize the pots in some way
Step 3: Tie the pots together so they dont collapse
Step 4: Fill with compost (it really does take alot to fill)
Ok now i would do step 4 n 5 etc. but i forgot to soak the seeds for a few hours lol so i’m putting them in soak tonite lol but it is simple to pop a seed in each :D
Along with sowing sweet peas ive got round to planting out about 30 wallflowers, now the perennials are dying back abit its easier to judge the spacing.
Let hope these dont die….please :)
Finally a over view of the border….i have moved everything around and its a work in progress for next year. Its a white to pink to red scheme. (Eventually)

I love sweet peas but I didn't have any this year. I've heard it doesn't make any difference whether you soak them or not. I must say I always do though. I hope you're sewing are successful :o)

I sometimes soak them but to be honest it never seems to make a difference to mine, thankyou for the timely reminder, I have some seeds tucked away somewhere, all I have to do now is find them, lol...

Monty Don was sowing sweet peas on 'Gardeners' World' last night, the first stage of a trial to determine whether time of sowing makes any difference to flowering period. He said he can't see any benefit in soaking or chipping seeds before sowing ...... neither can I, the mice love them anyway!
I think I shall wait until March before sowing mine. I use toilet roll inners too, jam as many as I can into an ice-cream tub to stop them collapsing.

Best of luck with those Sweet Pea.
I love them as they remind me of my mother because she always grew them.
I did the sane as you as I had tossed in Sweet Pea seeds to my spent pots but then realized I should have soaked them first. Oh well, grow or not grow. It's hard to remember everything when we are suppose to, isn't it?
