Just a small blog, photos taken in April, started to take grandaughter for walk’s in the county and finding out she enjoyed it ( surprise surprise ).
There has always been a quarry at Croft, they have now made it a nature reserve all round the outside of it,i thought Amy would like to see the quarry as some thing new,it is a quite a spectacular view,we were lucky as they were blasting that afternoon
King of the castle
AMY pulling a bit of a face
Blasting
Walking down the last half of the hill
Spent a long time just standing looking
Look at the lovely weather in April

Grandaughter is striding out well down those steps, it looks a nice walk and you can see for miles from her vantage point on that rock..
My hubby spent years working in the quarries and we used to love watching the blasting, I guess we all have a bit of a destructive side to us, theres something good about watching those rockfaces fall, lol..

Why were you surprised that she likes being outside and walking? Once you can prise the technology out of their fingers they revert to kids of the 40s, 50s and 60s - outdoors all day exercising, being healthy and seeing interesting things - from quarries to four-leaved clovers - and not until computers are invented with 'scratch and sniff' values will the images be any better than real life. Take her out often and far - she'll thank you for it! :o)

What wonderful views ! No wonder your Grand daughter enjoyed being there in the fresh air .... and it seems she liked the cows too :o) I love to see cattle in a field myself ... there's something very restful about them lol

Seashores are the same, not the summer holiday sort but the rockpools and crabs sort, like fishing in a stream for tiddlers......
Its someting she'll remember

Amy has since one day looked up at me and said
" You like taking me out up hills and fields dont you"
It makes me wonder if she has had chance to look at cows before ( we do live in the country ) waiting for bit better weather now to take her on some bike rides.

Wonderful, kids live exploring given half a chance! My daughter lives in her wellies, the sound of the explosion must be immense, does it echo round the crater? X

Magnadoodle, Surprising no echo or very loud,it must be because it's such a huge quarry and we were so high up :-))
