and keep an eye out for the dreaded lily beetle on them too, I love them, the flowers not the beetles lol I found them enjoying themselves a little too much on my fritilaria - squished them very quickly. I saw them in the field on tv they looked amazing.:O) wonder if they get lily beetle in that field.

Bet they don't, Olive!!! It always seems to me that whatever problems gardeners have - in the wild the problems seem to have a solution. I bet there's a beastie somewhere whose favourite meal is lily beetles! :o)

I think your Sweet Peas will be fine. I sometimes sew them in the autumn myself (haven't got round to it this year lol)
Fritillaries are pretty. I always grow them. I put some in the ground and some in pots. They naturalise easilly.

The sweet peas will be fine in the unheated cold frame. I often set mine off next month or if I forget then I set them in January. They are a wonderful plant.
I love snakeheads too. if you are going to buy the bulbs do them asap as you dont want them to dry out. better still to buy the plants coming into flower, more expensive I know but at least you are certain they will flower for you.
You will also see what colour they are. I love the all white ones as well as the purple checkerboard ones.
