Lovely treat today with a visit to this local Japanese garden which is not normally open to the public.
The sixth photo actually has some ducks and ducklings, but they decided to dive in amongst the floating leaves! I loved all the bonsai trees of different sizes, and the waterfalls were a delight :)

Yes, thanks Julia. It’s interesting that Japanese gardens look lovely with hardly any colour!

Beautiful pictures, Sheila! :) Thanks for showing us around!
I didn't know "Cottered" was a village! :D :D :D I thought it was a word I didn't know so looked it up & discovered it's the name of a village!

I love Japanese gardens Sheila and it must have been wonderful walking round it. I have done a tiny replica of a Japanese garden. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you for sharing with us, it’s beautiful! I love a Japanese garden, so much architectural planting and symbolism. The different hues of green and some formality with minimal bloom colour… so lush and attractive.
The pond is such a lovely addition too.
Love it!
Pleased you had the chance to enjoy it, Sheila.

I love Japanese gardens too. Thanks for sharing your visit with us. I’ve never heard of Cottered either, so now I’m going to look it up too. You were lucky to get to visit this garden. Did you like the Jap garden at the Chelsea Show, on T V?

Thank you Rose, it would be lovely to see your “tiny replica” on here. We have a corner with Acers, bamboo and some bonsai … just a little bit Japanese!

Thank you very much Kate for your lovely comment, and for summing up the Japanese aesthetic so eloquently 🙂.

Thanks Callie, yes we were lucky.
Thanks Josee. Yes, I LOVED the Chelsea garden which quite rightly won Best in Show!

I shall put it on here Sheila but it's not quite finished yet, have to get a couple of Japenese statues, when I can afford it!

No wonder it is considered one of the best Japanese gardens in the U.K. Sheila, thankyou so much for sharing this.
