I have joy in my heart

Hi GOY members

I am happy to advise that I have finally engaged the services of a wonderful hardscaper to assist me with my garden plan and landscaping. I will be sorting out the front and vegetable garden. I am so elated and and want to thank GOY members for the inspiration, and the sharing of your beautiful gardens with me on a daily basis. And I look forward to sharing my garden with you.
Kind Regards

Thanks everyone for the responses.
Snoopdog, in this instance I have done all my drawings for my garden, I will purchase and plant all my trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, veggies and herbs. The hardscaper constructs the pathways, patio, borders for the flowerbeds and veggie garden. He will also provide me with an irrigation system. Therefore, he will assist me in constructing all the hard areas.

After Gem's experience, make sure he gets the drainage systems right before you spend money on plants and shrubs etc.

Thanks for the "heads up" Diane.
I searched Gem's blog which was very informative and an very unfortunate situation. I wish her the very best in resolving her problem.
Currently, I have clay pavers around my home and driveway and very sandy soil as I live along the beach i.e. in South Africa. I have lived on the property for 18years and fortunately I have had no problems. But I will be checking and confirming with the gentleman about the drainage as he is not using clay pavers for the patio but perhaps cement pavers. Just reminds that when he replaces the sand around the irrigation system that there builders rubble placed on the piping. I previously had lots of water leaks because the builders rubble cut my water pipe.
Many thanks.
