I was looking forward to my day off today and for good reason. I went shopping :D

It was a very successful trip… I am now the proud owner of an Amelanchier! It’s only a baby but i now have a lovely tree for the garden. I can’t wait to get it in its spot!

I also stumbled across a variety of bugle I’d been looking for, so i got three of those :D
And on my last wander before my long suffering other half dragged me out of the store i spotted a big wildlife friendly plant stand and whilst quickly scanning across all the lovely plants i spotted native toadflax.

So a very successful trip all round. It’s just a shame that as we were driving back it decided to chuck it down so i haven’t been able to actually get anything in yet :(
Hopefully it will stay dry enough tomorrow morning for me to get the tree in. I can’t wait to see it in situ :D

I also spotted my chance last monday (with the weather) and dug over another part of my border – im getting there, in sections lol. I moved the buddleja and divided one of my potted campanula and planted that along with the teasel. I dug in an entire bag of manure to the spot where the amelanchier will go. Lots of worms! No more shopping for me this week, well, until payday maybe?

I can see myself doing more overtime this week. LOL!

Very good choice I love my Amelanchier, it rewards me from now with its flowers all through until Nov as the leaves also change colour through the seasons.
You have done well getting out and starting in your borders, seems as though thats what we are all doing between showers, keep up with the overtime its worth it when you get to go and treat yourself, lol....

Thanks Lincs, that's why i went for it, I've obviously only got room for one tree so i'm so glad it will (hopefully) reward me with lots of interest throughout the seasons.
Yes, its a shame i cant get out for longer, i seem to be hopping in and out between showers but it seems to be getting there.

I know i don't mind the overtime knowing i can treat myself to lovely things like the tree :)
Big thankyou to Bamboo as well for suggesting it in the first place! :D

I'm pleased you got an Amelanchier. I think they are so lovely in the spring. I hope you get some nice weather soon, so that you can get something done.
