Garlic Planting
4 comments
Yep…
The time has come. The soil is not solid. The garlic… is going to be planted.
1st the soil was waterlogged, then it froze and might as well as been rock. Finally, it has defrosted and the garlic is going in! The veg patch is actually going to have something in it (after 3 months of waiting)! But not until Saturday. I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really… pant … hope that it doesn’t go all wet or frozen before then! I’l cry if it does.

Oooh....yes....save yourself some tears.....you could always start them off in pots.in the coldframe/greenhouse......they will grow their roots first anyway....and this will give them a headstart.........

I'd hold off for a couple of weeks and then plant the garlic directly into the ground. It is not recommended to start wither garlic or onion sets in pots and then transplant.
