Thank you for letting us know,Sue..I had wondered if she was ok..I hope she gets sorted out soon..One of the drawbacks of Technology,I'm afraid ...you are stuck without other means of keeping in touch sometimes..

forgive my ignorance, but who is fran?

Thanks for keeping us up to date! For the two weeks we were in Spain we couldn't access the Internet unless we were at the hotel where we were staying. As we often got back to the hotel gone midnight & left around 10 most mornings to go up to my mother-in-law's house where she has never had a computer, let alone Internet, we were totally "out of the loop", as they say!

We both took our computers with us but as mine is the small notebook type I was able to carry it with me practically everywhere we went. But it was of little use without an Internet connection! I spend time transferring photos from my mobile to the computer, renaming them & putting them in the correct folders & transferring some of them back onto my mobile.

Such a frustrating problem - poor Fran! I can no longer access pm s on GoY. I have not yet taken the step of opening a new account, so if anyone tries to contact me, I just see the number of messages mount up. I am not tempted to throw my devices out of the window because I know for certain the problem is not at my end, but the frustration is best laid to one side...

Maisiesdad - For some reason I can't find her profile. It tells you that she is visually impaired and has painful back problems. Neverthless now she finally has a house with a garden she works hard to fulfill her dream. Nothing seems to faze her. She writes long entertaining blogs about her garden trials and tribulations.
Lets hope she soon gets her computer sorted...

Maisiesdad its Fran155, her profile is showing up here Stera, J hope she is up and running again soon, it will be good to see what her latest projects have been and also how her garden has been doing for her....

Her move I though ws very brave but its turned out so well....except for the computer!!?

Thats right Stera, its a shame isn't it, in her other home she had a friend if I remember it correctly who used to help her out..

Thanks for letting us know Stera I had thought Fran was being quiet lately , we hope its not too long before she's back on GOY ....

Its a new computer and the firm who set it up don't seem interested in putting it right.

Anyone here use a Dongle when the usual server is down? I have one but find I don't make that much use of it except when I am out of the house or on holiday. Am thinking of doing away with the dongle as most places have wireless connection these days.

We have fibre connection about three quarters of a mile away but not much chance of getting it here.

Any further developments, Stera, on Fran's problems with her computer?

I had to phone her to make the initial contact and don't like to do it again - she might not welcome too many calls - what do you think?

I have been wondering where Fran had vanished and hoped it was not illness. I have not been much on GOY recently, as my OH has needed more care recently. For all sorts of reasons November has been an awful month. I'm sure that it must have been really bad for Fran to be disconnected from her usual computer friends and well wishers. I do recall now someone posted some time back that Fran was having a problems with a new computer. How sad for it to go on for so long.

Sorry to hear about your OH Dorjac, and that you've been having a tough time. I hope things will improve for you and your OH soon.

Thanks Steragram. I hope Fran will be back when her computer fixed up. We've had a flood, been off the fixed phone for over a week. OH computer been off line with a fault. Our electric meter stopped working. My computer has a scary fault on AVG. We have a bossy pretty calico cat planted her feet under the table and on top of the bookshelves etc. Hubby fell and got admitted and then discharged on oral morphia for pain. Then physios came and made it worse! A close friend, who helps us a lot, is waiting for a gall bladder operation after a bout of pancreatitis, is the most worrying. Nothing done garden wise for about six weeks.

Oh, Dorjac - that all sounds horrendous. I do hope things get better for you and OH, and your poor friend.

Poor Dorjac - you have both been going through the mill haven't you? I hope next year will be better!

A standard gall bladder op is nothing to worry about - just an overnight stay if they can do it keyhole. I don't know if having had pancreatitis would make a difference though.
Surgery is fantastic these days, they are so clever. Doesn't stop you being nervous though does it?
Perhaps looking after the pretty cat will cheer things up a bit for you.

Sorry Stera but the awfulness goes on. Our little Kitty who shared herself with several ladies of mature age especially me and Elise nextdoor. She wooed everyone for food and warmth. After spending the summer months 'admiring' the birds under the feeders and running off when the door handle rattled, she finally came in from the cold and proved very friendly indeed. Now some motorist has killed her in the street andshe has gone away.

When I saw it come up on my newsfeed a few minutes ago I was hoping Fran had managed to get back to us Stera, its been a long time now, I hope she is alright healthwise...
