Blooming Blossoms

Yesterday was cool but sunny, and calm, my favourite weather. Looks like the plants agreed.

Bought this last May, Crabapple Neville Copeman

This one has been in our garden longer than we have which is over 25 years.

This one I bought from my local market garden stall last May, it never flowered but I have found a bud! Paeonia Lactiflora Sarah Bernhardt – very excited to see it come out, isn’t that sometimes the best bit? Waiting for it to colour up and see what happens…….

Normally we’d be out oohing and ahhing about the yellow rapeseed fields around our area, but this year I have my very own in a pot, two years ago it was in the ground but this is a new one in a pot.

You are right about the plants (and me too) preferring the cooler, sunny days without the wind. Spring blossom is a real short lived joy, you can see why the Japanese honour Cherry blossom when it is out.
Personally I am not a lover of rapeseed and it gets rapidly pulled out if it drifts into my garden!

I think spring blossom on all trees is always a beautiful sight, sadly cannot go out and about to see it all so have to be thankful for my own and photo's of others gardens..
I think you have just named a rogue plant that has appeared under the fence from next door, it has to go...
Lovely blog and photo's Sunny....

I love rapeseed and even more so because it was my first ever visit to this site, to have it identified!

That’s lovely sunnydais, that’s the joy of the garden waiting for things to come to life, looks really good, I have always wanted to try some rape seed myself and pot them up.
