Afternoon at Kew Gardens

i only had a few hours spare and i was right by Kew so i thought Why not, it’s change a bit since the last time i was there…
first some nice scenes by the entrance
this tree was HUGE they had cables to help it stand up.
another scene it really was quite peaceful.
First stop was the temperate house, real hot and sticky.
there was some nice flowers
and some unusual plants
No idea what this beauty was as i saw no label
how about this for a ginger plant,,
there was an artist drawing this as i passed by,
then for a walk through the tree palm canopy
really quite high up here
top of the world Lol
next to the desert and a prickly friend…
i quite liked this one..
wouldn’t like to fall into this lot…
next the orchid area
loved the colour on these
i had a smaller version of this when i was younger..
down to the pond area,
just loved the leaf colour, plus the flower of course..
this one i thought was different…
into the carnivore house, love sundews..
love the texture on the hoods..
i grew these last year but the winter killed them off..
into the alpine house
another ginger family
who could resist trop.tricolour..
I had to include these for Paulsgarden as i know he likes grass like me,,
these beds were at least 150 ft long
and about 15-20 ft wide…
and so to finish a few sculptures i saw…
some nice and interesting….
and some down right obscure….. weird…
this is but a small portion of what i saw and never had a chance to see the rest, but will be back for part 2 in the summer….. hope you enjoyed the trip round Kew…
