Autumn Berry walk...

We decided to take our girls out for a picnic in Windsor Great Park, it was really nice and warm for a change as just lately its been raining so much my pond overflowed…
The park on a late summer early autumn day…..
This was through the forest, the trees were really quite Dense in places….
Conifers going towards the valley gardens, a nice calm place…
We go to what’s called the Devils punch bowl, this is from the top of the bowl…
Although it doesn’t look steep it really is quite steep with sleeper stairs in places…
In the spring time this is ablaze with colour as all the plants here are Rhododendrons and Azaleas, plus large majestic magnolias….
Then my youngest wanted to play explorers so what the heck… this i think was what she called the amazon path !!
We saw so many rowan with berrys that we’ll though see how many we could see on our way back to the car….
after counting 27 we called it a day :-))
then we fed the swans at Virginia Water
And their cygnets which was nice….
finally home for a rest…. Not !!
Thanks for coming on our Picnic walk :-)

Thanks so much Surreylad! You have inadvertently solved a puzzle for me. I have two of the rowans you took pictures of, the one with pink berries and the one with white. I always wondered what the habit of other rowans that have the white berry was, as mine is an odd sprawly shape, but so is the one you shot, so now I'm happy, mine's not just a wee weird one, neither have I done something wrong to it! Thanks again!
