cyclamen

Last September i sowed some cyclamen seeds only 8 of them, C.Persicum Grandiflorum Sentsation. And like a kid with a new toy i checked every day sometimes twice a day :-) after 2 weeks of nothing i forgot about them…..
Then 6 weeks later i was surprised with what i saw..
patiently i waited as it grew then middle of may they were this big…
June a little bigger…
end of June nice size plants..
Out of the 8 seeds only 5 germinated and grew which i thought was ok…
September came and i thought i wonder if they will flower this year…. Nooo until a few days ago i found this….
yesterday it finally opened Yippee and looking at the rest of my other plants they have buds developing so maybe a weeks time there will be more flowers to see…
i hope you liked the birth and flowering of my new baby Cyclamen :-))
Thanks for looking..

Aaaaw. Your new babies, and all growing up now !! I love the progress report. Well done you! I did the same with Coleus this year, also thinking that it was about to fail, left them to themselves for a week or so, went to look and Ta Dah !!

Oh well done! What an inspiration - I must try following your example. What sort of conditions did you give them?

Thanks Clarice thanks Steragram.
Thanks Gattina, i soaked the seeds for 12 hours first then sowed into good seed compost, then kept dark with temp around 12-14 Deg C they did take 4-6 weeks to germinate then treat as a normal seedling..

I'd better write that down........ Thanks! There is a whole wood up the mountain that is called "Bosco dei ciclamini" and at this time of year is supposed to be carpeted with wild cyclamen - I'd better fire my camera batteries up and go a-walking. No, I'm a good girl, I shan't be digging any of them up, however tempting.
