Good luck for tomorrow Pete, though I'm sure you'll not need it - these heart surgeons know what they're doing. You'll be back home and back to normal in no time.

All the best Pete. It's wonderful what they can do these days. I can understand you being frightened ... I would be aswell. But try to remember also, that the surgeons have undergone lots of training, and are probably used to doing this operation.

Aw Pete, what can I say eh? My brother is waiting to have his left kidney removed (he has a big 'balloon' of ??? on it). He was supposed to get a stent in on 30th April (to deflate and drain the 'balloon') with nephrectomy (kidney removal) on 14th May - both were cancelled!! He hasn't received another date as yet.

30 May, 2012

Wow Pete and Sheilar this is terrible .

At least you will get a good nights sleep tonight as I bet last night you did not sleep too well.

Back in 1978 I had to go on for a major operation. For 3 weeks before the date I felt the same as you Pete. Went and sat in our Parish Church the day before. I didnt ask for help because I didnt believe anyone could help me. Just sat there about half an hour. Then I felt as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I felt lighter somehow.
Went home. Next morning I walked up to the hospital calm and happy. The nurses couldnt believe I had gone up there alone. Family were all at work, so I didnt bother them.
I laughed, because I knew I wasnt alone.
'Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.'

Darn it and there we were cheering you up, I know it sometimes cannot be helped but its still upsetting when that happens, never mind Pete you can enjoy the Jubilee instead....

Pete, my brother had an out patient appointment on Thursday regarding his left kidney. They aren't going to bother draining it two weeks beforehand now, they're just going to drain it as they remove it. It is now the size of two thirds of his stomach and needs to be removed 'urgently'. He's been told he'll receive a date for this 'urgent' operation at the end of July!!!!???

Pete , just drift off into the "arms of Morph " (i.e. the anaesthetic ) and when you awake all will be mended !

I hope it's behind you. I was just looking at your pics because I had you on my list to check out and then I find out in your blog all the happenings for you. I had a heart attack last summer, and believe me I was scared almost to death. But I did have faith in the Doctors, one of them
giving me the broadest smile. And somehow that one smile mustered up every ounce of, "you can do it"...And that is what you need, doesn't matter how you get it.

The recovery is long and it's now been a year for me, and too many pills. I, too, was the model of health. Not one symptom, but hereditary. I fear the Doctors are not paying enough attention to this aspect. I am fine now, and hope you will bit by bit find your strength. And the second thing, day by day.

I see you have many friends here, so take all the support you can get and just think, the garden ahead of you.

Even though I do not know you, you have all my good wishes. Wells
