Roses in Pots..in the rain

Thought I would record how the roses reacted to a bout of heavy rain.
Fragrant Cloud – not too bad, just the outer petal or two went brown, good for such a large open flower
Margaret Merril – Excellent, stayed open and correct, just a little brown on extreme petal edges. Notice it goes papery with age.
Alpine Sunset – very good. Although single bloom on last legs, petals stayed attached and still very waxy and firm.
Chandos Beauty – Superb, hardly touched, Sparkled with raindrops.
Molineux – very slight balling on half open blooms but buds and fully open roses nary a mark.
Nostalgia – very good also. Couple brown marks on outer petals.
Alfresco – very small blooms but held well, no marks
L’Aimant, Gertrude Jeykll, Denman, Summer Gold, Special Event and Sunset Boulevard only had unopened buds so cant tell
Souvenir du Dr Jamain – buds unaffected, also half opened ones. Fully open ones got hammered, lots of brown marks.
City of London Lots of flowers in all stages, only the ones about to drop suffered.
Warm Wishes, excellent. Hardly a mark.
Pat Austen – Half opened flowers balled, but buds and fully opened flowers performed well.
Lady Hillingdon – for a loosely made rose this held up beautifully. Only the old blooms flattened.
My un-named white climber didnt have a mark on the several roses that had opened.
Marguerite Anne had one fully open flower. No marks at all.
Tickled Pink – also very good. No marks
I will record the others if roses and rain arrive at the same time.

Margaret Merril - now I have wanted one of those for years. I'm pleased to hear it withstood the weather well. I think I'll try to get one for next year. Thanks for this information.
