Wow Toto I was expecting some sort of lemonade bottle turned upside down - not something as well constructed as this .
Brilliant - all I can say is your determination to stop them starlings has resulted in a very professional looking feeder .

I bought one In Homebase at £9.99 that you could lower the lid down so that you can prevent the bigger birds getting them.
Ha!I have some very acrobatic starlings that can outdo bluetits any time!

I can't take credit for the actual feeder Bonkers. My only contribution was the addition of the bottom of the lemonade bottle.
Yes Arlene, last year the starlings were managing to get their heads in between the bars and take those mealworms which were close to the sides which is why I added the plastic bottle bottom. You need to make sure it's high enough otherwise the starlings still manage to get them.
Thanks Dawn.

~the one I have hasn't got the bars and is relying onthe small area between the plastic top and the heavyweight mesh bottom~will have to see what I can do with a lemonade bottle!

I have to admit i have one of those robin feeders, and no matter how low the top is the starlings always manage to get in it.

Can't work that out as the toptouches the bars Clarice and the starlings can't get through the gaps between the bars unless yours has bars further apart.
