Halloween and garden

Hi everyone.
i have had an unhappy and sick computer for a few weeks but am now happy to say back on line.

What a wonderful month this is, with trick or treat and seeing all those little faces looking a bit scared when you open the door, but soon smiling when the treats come out of hiding. I just love Halloween.
Then comes Xmas and all those same little faces singing outside your door, with either their parents at the gate or older children with them to ensure their safety. What more could you ask for?

Then you have all the lovely changing colour of the leaves and plants, what a beautiful world we do live in.

My Hedgehogs are still visiting and eating all the dog food and biscuits we put out, feeding up ready for hibernation.

We have had a Sparrow Hawk visiting the garden of late so all our little visiting birds are cautious and up to now quite safe.

We have spent a lot of time in the garden this week, picking up fallen leaves (filled two brown bins) and doing a general tidy up.
I read in our paper it was time to prune roses but mine are still in bloom, and looking beautiful as I am sure some of yours are.

Take care and catch up soon.
Juney

I also like the celebrations, you are right its good to see and hear the children enjoying themselves, I think our hedgehogs are still about but only because the dogs get agitated in the dark and try to dive under the shrubs, lol, I haven`t seen them myself for about three weeks.
You`ll have some good nourishment for your garden next year if you save all those leaves.........

I love the autumn aswell. The trees seem to be a brighter colour this year.

Yes lovely time of year, I am leaving garden to overwinter and cutting back in spring made a decision earlier on this autumn not to chop back just to let it have its way. I hope I can see the bulbs when they come up in spring, only time will tell.

Not to keen on autumn dont like dark nights, can't wait till the 21st Dec when its the shortest day and the nights start to get a bit lighter each night.
