I have just come in from the garden, and I am always amazed to see how beautiful it is the next day after the rain.
Vic (my other half) has been mowing while I have been cutting, and tidying, as well as bird watching. We have such a variety but Goldfinch are my favourite. A very timid bird with beautiful colours and so tiny.
The Lavender is so big and there are both bees and butterflies constantly on it.
We moved to Derbyshire from the Wirral and it was the best move we have ever made.
The garden was basically bare, but not any more. I am putting in as many plants and small shrubs as I can afford, but also trying to put my hand to taking cuttings. So far I am still a novice but I will get there.
I brought a cutting with me of a variagated weigela and the photo now shows the size.
I love it when it flowers with lovely pink colours.

it all looks lovely i have lavender bushes as well and the bees enjoy them I also cut the flowers and dry them for the scent they last for ages

Welcome to GOY,Trenchy.I have the pale pink variagated too,and love it.The Lavenders seem to have gone mad this year,don't they?Have just trimmed mine back now.We love Derbyshire too,and not really too far for us in W.Yorkshire.We went more when our daughter was young,and used to go to the park in Glossop,great for children,and to an owl centre,near Chapel en le frith,apologise if the spelling is incorrect,So many lovely places to visit there.

hi trenchy hasn't it been a lovely day here in derbyshire ? i also love the weigela , iv'e got a pale pink varigated and a darker pink one . yours looks great .
