Hedgehog & Bird Boxes

Hi all,
We have had a lovely day today in the garden and then off into the workshop, to make a Terrace Bird Nest Box, and a Hedgehog Box. Vic is a chippie by trade so it takes him no time at all to make anything,
The bird box is finished into three compartments to house 3 seperate families, and is now up under the guttering ready and waiting for tenants.
The Hedgehog box is also completed but has not been put out yet as we did not finish that one until 8.30 and the night was closing in, so that will go out in the garden under a large shrub tomorrow when we have put some paper and straw inside for him or her.
We are due more rain tomorrow so I spent time tidying the beds and dead heading the plants finishing with a hair cut to the lawns.
Although the lawns look good, Vic has decided to scarify it and we got 6 big garden bags of moss and dead grass. I would never have believed it, so next Spring should be looking good again. Hard work in the garden does pay off.
I sent a photo of the garden to The HedgehogsSociety and we have a rescue centre here in Derby. Having got in touch the couple visited us yesterday 22nd August, and Hey Ho!! we are having our first hog ( female ) released next Sunday. Quite excited and happy we can save a Hog.
The garden looks really lovely first thing in the mornings, and I love my walk before breakfast around to see what is popping up.
Take care everyone and thank you for reading my blog. It’s nice to share with everyone.
