Lobelia , String of Pearls

Thought I would try something different this year , I used a lot of eggs over the holiday season baking so I kept the plastic cartons , thought they might come in handy , I seived compost into the cartons and sprinkled on the Lobelia seeds , hopefully it will be easy just to pop out a plug and put into the hanging baskets , time will tell !

Oh ! no ! I didnt put any drainage holes in I forgot , lol , but the one mistake I made a couple of year ago with Lobelia was I made them too wet and they all died , last year I just lightly misted them when they started to look dry and they all grew so I think I will do that this year again .

For many years I have been recycling my egg-boxes:
the paper-based ones I use first to sit seed potatoes in when chitting them, then they are used again to grow seeds. The seedlings' roots do not need to be disturbed when they are potted on, the carton section is repotted too.
The plastic ones are used as propagator covers for seeds grown in egg boxes, thereafter they make excellent disposable paint-mixing palettes for children.
