Im scared to put it out in the cold , Eddie is laughing at me but its been in a warm shop I dont want it to get killed by the frost , will i put it in the Greenhouse just now ?, Oh ! plants they are as bad as having children you worry over them !!

Hey ladies, I'm listening, lol! Thanks Weemamabell, for asking about growing the blueberry, and to you, too, Maple, for the advice. Now I don't need to ask what to do with my one.

You are welcome David. I think I'll just keep a pot empty for now then follow my own advice!! I do love blueberry muffins

I am growing a blueberry too, so just read the advice, :) great.
I got it last summer in the blueberry farm in Dorset near Wimborne. They had lots of varieties and blueberry foods for sale in their shop.

Don't blame you Weemama! At least kids can just be put in the cupboard a la Harry Potter with a handful of biscuits. Plants take more care lol
Blueberries need full sun or partial shade. They should be planted in the ground between November and March in ericaceous soil. They need high acidity (pH 4.5 - 5.5) so you might be better keeping them in containers (12 -15" pots) if your soil isn't that acidic.
Trim the tips off the branches and remove any flower buds so the plant will establish strong roots in the first year. In the planting hole add sawdust or composted bark, then after planting mulch with composted or chipped pine bark, or leafmould if available.
Water with rainwater little and often. Don't let it dry out even if it means using tapwater.
That should keep you busy in the first year!! Good luck with it
