Plot 16 Victoria Rd Allotments

Plot 16 has been mine since 1996, prior to taking over the plot I’d had an allotment since 1974, It’s a full plot measuring 120ft x 24ft including the path,
Last year I erected corrugated sheets around the perimeter to stop the rabbits getting in, the sheets are fixed to scaffold tubes which are in the ground like posts, this year I extended the posts to 2metres high and fixed galv fence wire around the top, I’ve bought bird nets over the top to keep the pigeons out, I now work under the net no problem,
I went to the plot at 07:00 this morning (Sunday ) to finish lifting the potatoes and hand digging the root crop section over as I’m going to try a green manure this year the area is 30ft x24ft glad it’s finished, I’ll rake it in the morning if the weather holds and scatter the seed over the area, in this section I’m trying physcelia,
A few weeks ago one on my neighbours threw away a large plastic water container, it’s one of the commercial type, about a 5ft cube, the tap has had it so the water runs out, Any I have taken ownership of it as no one wanted to get rid of it, with the aid of a hacksaw and a hand saw I now have two containers to grow show carrots (with a bit of luck)

A previous tenant planted scaffold poles all the way down my plot then sawed the tops off. I still cant get them out! Have dug down 4'. Now leave them with a lemonade bottle stuck on a cane in them to stop me tripping over them. Goodness only knows what he was going to do with them, they are all the way down the plot. They tend to annoy me a bit, will have another go at them this winter.
