Fear

Visited a Garden centre 7miles from home today. They had every thing one could desire for the garden but i thought a little expensive in some ways. Got two more hanging baskets ( they don,t require internal linings) and yet they are full of holes. Honestly they had 10 already planted up and really were very impressive . F2 geranium seed 89P and quite a selection of Budgie seeds. The fear came as we passed a life size dummy dressed in black with blood on his hands offering my good lady one of his eye,s. She screamed and grabbed me so quickly i dropped the blooming baskets onto a drip feed display which in turn sent a pot rabbit sideways into a small pond display. The store assistant was most apologetic and several customers were shaken by the dummies posture. We were offered a free tea or coffee at the store restaurant but we declined as time was getting on. Well that was the makings of our day. Enjoy and take care Tony

Arrrghh! Scared me too! Poor Valerie! She's had so many shocks this weather, it's a wonder she's standing! Must have been funny to see the bunny falling into the pond though!! They should have given you a voucher for the next time you call in! My batteries running out Tony...I'll pm you tomorrow!! Hugs!!

Im very sorry Tony but I laughed as well; its a good way to get free tea and coffee ~ and i think thats the least you deserve having had a fright like that ~ they shouldnt allow such horrors in the GC!!

Thats absolutely stupid. The consequenses could have been far more serious to someone of a sensitive nature.
You should have complained to the owners, these GCs are often owned by area bosses, and run by managers who would not tell them of this silly trick.

So many GC's have childrens areas these days that 'that' will be the reason for it - to get the good, no-nonsense plant places it has to be privately owned nurseries these days.

Two of the GC's i regularly visit have childrens areas and the noise emanating from them is b***dy awful - i really do feel that children and GC's do NOT mix.

What a horrid thing to bump into in the tranquil & pretty setting of a garden centre! Let's hope no-one with a bad heart is suddenly confronted by it. And wouldn't it be scarey for a young child? I agree with Libet ... they should have given you a voucher for your next visit ... by which time, one would hope the horror would have disappeared.

it will be halloween soon and who knows what nasty things they will be displaying everywhere, i really dont like halloween ~ i cant understand why children are allowed to go out and and almost demand a treat ~ i can see a fun element in dressing up but i dont like the demand element nor the really scary costumes and make up, especially for little ones.
also i cant understand why garden centres couldnt have a digging area for children ~ i bet they would like that. i dont think we have any 'childrens areas at the GCs near here so i cant really imagine it.
sorry, i will be quiet now ~ had my say for the day!!!

Good heavens what dare i say?. Each comment has valid substance and sincerity in its description. My own opinion is since the dummys were on display with movement sensors the customers should have been warned prior to approaching the display. My good lady is very sensitive in many ways but although i am not(i had to giggle )the GC staff were clearley warned of their error in no uncertain terms by myself. Thankyou for your comments. Take care Tony

Rose how nice to have you back in the kitchen. Hope you enjoyed your holiday and i do not think for one minuet that your chips were bad. Your Tea however was blooming diabolical, and i broke a moler on your rock(sorry) tempered steel buns. Elizabeth is still stuck to her jam butty and stickie is stuck in your soup basket. But hey ho welcome back chef. Take care enjoy Tony
